This fabulous pewter Quaich bowl celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the world's oldest golf tournament, the British Open, is the perfect quality gift for golf lovers everywhere! Officially licensed by the R&A, and manufactured in the UK by the English Pewter Company, this fabulous whisky tasting bowl celebrates this special event to be played at the home of golf, St Andrews. The bowl itself features the iconic Claret Jug surrounded by the oval 'O' from this world famous logo in the centre, below which sits the wording 150th St Andrews. What makes this extra special is the intricate Celtic pewter band that wraps around the bowl alongside the fabulous Celtic lion handles. The history of the Quaich dates back centuries and is commonly known as the Scottish "Cup Of Welcome", whereby visitors would be welcomed with whisky and drink from each side of the bowl. Today it is used as a commemorative gift for weddings, prize givings and a whole host of celebrations, particularly for those with Scottish heritage. Perfect for the addition of a personalised message through our expert engraving service should you require. This particular bowl measures 3.5" or 90mm in diameter (excluding handles). Each quaich is elegantly supplied in our exclusive Open gift box as shown.
